Huskisson Foreshore Reserve
The foreshore reserve at Huskisson is the most convenient picnic spot in the region. Electric BBQs, covered picnic shelters, grassed areas, public toilets, a playground, and direct access to the beach — all within a short walk of the town centre. It's extremely popular on weekends in summer so arrive early for a BBQ station.
Greenpatch Beach Picnic Area
Inside Booderee National Park, Greenpatch Beach has a picnic area with gas BBQs (national park style) and tables directly behind the beach. The setting is beautiful — spotted gum forest behind, the calm turquoise bay in front, kangaroos grazing nearby. This is a genuinely exceptional picnic location, though a Booderee day entry fee applies.
Callala Beach Picnic Facilities
Callala Beach on the northern shore of Jervis Bay has excellent picnic facilities including BBQs, shaded picnic shelters, and a playground. The beach here is exceptionally calm and shallow — perfect for young children — and the picnic area is set back from the water with easy supervision sight lines.
Plantation Point Reserve, Vincentia
Plantation Point has lovely picnic facilities in a headland reserve overlooking the bay. The setting is peaceful, with great dolphin-spotting potential from the headland. A short snorkelling reef is just below the point. It's quieter than the Huskisson foreshore and particularly good for a relaxed afternoon picnic.
